Trespassing is an Amsterdam-based performance art manifestation that attempts to capture and reveal the spirit of times by penetrating institutional, public, and in-between spaces, using the transience of performance art as its medium. Serving as a presentation platform it enables a variety of artists, stemming from various disciplines and backgrounds, to create performative interventions that explore, push and break through the boundaries of selected spaces.

Our curatorial concepts aim to invite onlookers into a space of reflection through aesthetic disruption, which we deem necessary to transform our institutions and city centre for the better.

The two sides of the coin that make up Trespassing’s methodology are what we call interventions and manifestations. The first serves as a conscious intervention that intends to set ‘something’ in motion, whilst the second, often takes the form of a group show, and aims to denote a process in which it gradually becomes clear what the final outcome shall be.
